At the top we see Primrose, the province flower of Närke. According to the legend, Saint Peter lost the keys to heaven and at the place where the angels found them a Primrose grew.
Next we see the Hazel dormouse, the province animal of Närke. Its body is 6-9 cm long. It is in hibernation from October to May. The mouse eats nuts, berries and fruit, it can hang upside down in a hind paw and pick nuts. The Romans bred the mice for food and they ate them honey fried.
The following motif is Örebro Castle, no one knows exactly how old it is, but it is known that King Magnus Eriksson had the castle renovated in the 14th century. Nowadays, the castle is used as a museum, for exhibitions and the residence for the governor.
The railway junction in Hallsberg, it is Scandinavia's largest marshalling yard - 5 km long.
Kånsta mill, The mill was built in 1858. It is unique because it was powered by both wind and hydropower.
3 legged pot. The image symbolizes Christina (Cajsa) Warg (1703-1769). In 1755, Cajsa Warg published the book "Helper in the household for young ladies" which, in addition to cooking, gave advice on, among other things, how to cast candles, dye textiles or distill alcohol
Riseberga monastery ruin. In the 12th century, the Cistercian order established a monastery in Riseberga. The monastery burned down in 1546.
Oljeberget in Kvarntorp. From the Second World War onwards, oil was extracted from shale. The ash has formed a pink shimmering mountain. The rock still spreads sulfur smoke because it has not yet been extinguished.
Shoes. Anders Andersson in was a shoemaker in Kumla He was the first to make shoes that were not made to measure.
Wadköping. This part of Örebro which is named after Hjalmar Bergman's novel "Markurells i Wadköping". Wadköping shows what Örebro looked like during different eras.
Kumlaanstalten. Sweden's largest prison is located here.
Water lilies in Fagertärn. Fagertärn I Tiveden National Park with its red water lilies. They were found in 1856 by the student Bernhard Agaton Kjellmark. In 1905, the red water lily became the first plant to be protected in Sweden
Brevens bruk is an ironworks dating from the 17th century. Djurgårdsbron in Stockholm was casted here. The picture shows the roasting oven.
Nails, Askersund is known for its nail forging.
