Norrbotten

Arctic raspberry. The province flower of Norrbotten is mentioned by Linné in his Flora Lapponica in 1737 as a great delicacy. Used for jam and liqueur.

The Siberian jay is the province animal. The bird often comes up to the lumberjack huts to beg for food.

The polar circle cuts through our country 66° 33' N latitude

The Struve Geodetic Arc . One of our world heritage sites. During the years 1816 to 1855, the astronomer FGW Struve had points measured along the 25th degree of longitude to see the size of the globe and whether it was flattened at the poles.

Snowmobile. This vehicle has become a must in our northern regions - for both benefit and pleasure.

Gammelstad's church town. Sweden's largest church town, which was included in 1996 on UNESCO's World Heritage site. The town has 408 cottages

Kukkolaforsen. For a long time, people have used the rapids to run e.g. sawmill. Every year pile bridges are put into the river, they are used when dipnetting whitefish from the rapids.

Övertårneå church. The clock tower is from the 18th century. The church has an organ that was used in 1908 in the German church in Stockholm

Kicksled. The people of Pite believe that the kicksled was born in Piteå.

Acousticum Piteå. The concert hall in Piteå whose acoustics are world-class. Opened in 2007

The bifurcation in Tärendö. Tärendöälven connects Torne Älv and Kalix Älv with each other. That connection is the world's second largest bifurcation.
